Based on your reading in Modules 1, 2 and 3 so far, and your examiniation of Abram's and Harvey's definitions of Librarian 2.0 and the views presented in the above YouTube clips, define what you believe to be the essential knowledge, skills and attributes of an information professional in a Web 2.0 world.
Write up your definition as a post (of no more than 350 words) in your OLJ.

I agree Web 2.0 is not a code extension of language used by the programmer to communicate to the computer. During the 90's the change was on this level. Just when I had mastered a web content program it would be updated and I would need to understand some new file type and way of uploading extensions. Today open source software has seen an end to this to some extent. I do not believe that the Web has changed to much its just a different way of creating content (a lot more basic) and it seems the to be in the industry you need more programming skills then before. So on some level the divide has changed and to some extend the gate keepers have more power. Yes more people are creating content but in a templated controled manner. Younger people have no idea bout HTML (I introduced my students to this at the end of this year 2011). The internet is looking more and more like a graphic designers dream and less organic. It is wonderful that people are talking about the power of the internet but it is stupid to believe that it is becoming more organic.

WEB 2.0 and all its babies ect..
go back to and read when your brain is clear (overload overload)

Blogs, wikis, podcasts, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube,, Meebo, RSS feeds, and the list goes on. All of these technologies make up the world of Web 2.0.

These seem to be just banging on about what we already read before. (sorry I am getting a little testy giving up coffee)
